Kanya Campus is the first all-girls public school in Nepal, changing the environment of education by providing scholarships to young girls from across the country.
As part of our ongoing Environmental Love effort we did a floriculture planting at Kanya Girls College in Pokhara. This is the only all-girls college in the whole Western region of Nepal. They offer a multitude of scholarships to girls from all over this region, and play a very important role in giving quality education to girls from lower income families.
Due to limited funding they don't always have room in the annual budget for grounds upkeep, so we raised funds and planted 135 flowers and plants on the grounds. The funds were raised locally in Pokhara and we organized a group volunteer effort to do the gardening work. Members from the local community as well as staff and students from Kanya College joined the effort. We hope this will give motivation to the students and staff to be proud of the organization they are a part of, which is really such an important and revolutionary presence in Nepal.
Change the face of public girls' education in Nepal.
Little projects like these encourage the students and motivate them to work hard and spread their creativity.
